Have Muscles…Will Travel: CrossFit 2.2’s Food Drive for HACAP
It’s time for us to put our muscles to good use and show the community that we’re not just strong, but generous too!
Starting May 1st, bring non-perishable good into the gym. We’ll store all the food here, safe from Dude and hungry athletes! On Saturday, May 16th, we will all deliver the donated food to HACAP Food Reservoir in Hiawatha, just a half mile away from the gym.
But this won’t be any typical delivery, we’ll be carrying, pulling, dragging or pushing all the donated food using only our brute strength!
Build a sled, bring a wagon, make a travois, use ropes, PVC, barbells, backpacks. Enlist the kids and even the dogs! Every ounce of food will travel from the gym to HACAP using those muscles we have been working so hard to improve!
This event is open to all members of 2.2, their friends and families. You do not have to be a member of the gym to donate or to participate. HACAP will be able to weigh the donated food for us so friendly competition for who can carry the most is encouraged!

“HACAP Food Reservoir distributes donated products to area soup kitchens, pantries, senior & child care centers, drug & alcohol rehabilitation centers and other non-profit food programs that feed the needy.
Annually, our Food Reservoir Programs distribute 2.4 million pounds of food to local organizations and provide 4,000 food boxes to families in need.”
