Josh recently graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelors in Exercise Science. He had been a personal trainer and group fitness instructor during college. He taught many different training styles including kickboxing, suspension training, and Olympic weightlifting, but committed to CrossFit once he started his internship at Kilo.
Coach, CROSSFIT LEVEL 2, USAW Level 1 Certified
Nick served as a Recon Team Sgt. on his latest tour in Afghanistan. Nick also served in Iraq as an Infantry Squad Leader in the Iowa Army National Guard. He received numerous awards in both tours. He found CrossFit in 2009 and has been training with this discipline under Armand since. The Army and CrossFit have proven to be his 2 greatest passions. Tom is a middle school PE teacher in the Marion Independent School District. Tom graduated from Coe College with a Physical Education Degree in 2005. While at Coe he was a 4-year varsity letter winner in baseball and a two-year captain. After college he began to get involved in powerlifting, then found CrossFit in 2012. He has been interning at 2.2 since February 2013 and now is officially a staff member. In his spare time he also coaches high school baseball and has previously coached at the college level as well. Alicia has always been active, playing nearly every sport offered in high school. She has been crossfitting since 2011 and began training just two months before her first competition. Seth is a Middle School PE Teacher at Franklin Middle School in Cedar Rapids. Seth graduated from Coe College in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and an endorsement in Health and Nutrition. While at Coe, Seth was 3-year starter for the Coe College Wrestling Team as well as a 2x All-American. He was first introduced to CrossFit in 2005 on his high school wrestling team and used it throughout his wrestling career. Seth also coaches Middle and High School wrestling, as well as dropping in when he can to help out at Coe College.
Aimee came to CrossFit 3 years ago while rehabbing from an injury. Prior to that, I spent 15 plus years training and competing in endurance sports, specifically road cycling and running. While studying at the University of New Mexico, she competed at USA Collegiate Cycling nationals and several races throughout the country.
